It is not just Novak Djokovic who is chasing his Calendar Slam at the US Open 2021. Interestingly, famous wheelchair tennis player was also on the verge of accomplishing his Golden Slam in New York. While Djokovic is still fighting for it, Alcott accomplished it by winning the US Open 2021 title.

Dylan Alcott is the first wheelchair tennis player to achieve the Golden Slam in the history of the sport. Before this, he won the Australian Open, Wimbledon Championships, and the French Open title in 2021. In addition, he won the Gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020. Intriguingly, he also won the Silver medal in the mixed quad doubles category in Tokyo this year.

It is the 15th Grand Slam title for the 30-year-old Australian player. He also has 8 major titles in the doubles category. Surprisingly, he achieved the Calendar Slam in 2019 as well, though it came in the doubles category.

Alcott didn’t celebrate like any other ordinary player after he achieved his Golden Slam at the US Open 2021. Instead, he did something quite unique that fans will remember for a very long time.

He took the cup of the US Open 2021 trophy and poured some beer into it. Later, he drank it in one go and fans cheered for him loudly during this whole time. He then posed for a picture with the cup. Interestingly, he did all this during the US Open 2021 final between Djokovic and Medvedev. The Australian player is actually a great friend of Nole and is watching the match live to extend his full support to the Serbian legend.
