Daniil Medvedev has had a rough ride at the Australian Open this season. Match-wise he is having great on-court performances, but it’s what around tennis that he is unable to control. He has shown frustration in every match he played in the 2022 Australian Open. Tennis Legend Boris Becker took a dig at Medvedev in a rather comical sense.
Daniil Medvedev claimed that his semifinal opponent Tsitsipas was receiving coaching from the stands, which is against the rules. The Russian even shouted at the chair umpire. After a debatable play enraged the 25-year-old, Medvedev took the seat and screamed at the umpire saying, “His father can talk about every point. Are you stupid?”

He continued to highlight that sentiment and bugged the chair umpire. He even said, “Look at me I’m talking to you” when the umpire tried to avoid any further conversation with Daniil. Later, Medvedev demanded a coaching violation against Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The battle went on after the match ended, as Medvedev called the umpire “small cat” for not awarding any violation to his opponent while leaving the court.
Medvedev before leaving the court:
"You understand, right? If you don't [give him a coaching warning], you are – how can I say it – a small cat."
