Tsitsipas rehired Mark Philippoussis in the beginning of the 2nd week of August. The Greek professional wanted to explore new things and give his father and former coach, Apostolos Tsitsipas, a rest after his Los Cabos title win. That is when the Australian coach stepped in, and they started working again after the duo parted ways in May, ahead of the French Open.
Before the start of the Canadian Open, the Greek expressed his wish to end the year successfully. He also wanted to take time off from tennis after doing his best and achieving as much as he could so that he could treat himself to a nice vacation.
