Andre Agassi, who has dominated the tennis courts for the majority of the 1990s, comes from a dysfunctional household and was the youngest of four siblings. In the first chapter of his autobiography, the tennis player wrote about growing up in a strange family and how his mother, Betty Agassi, didn’t like her much.

The former Grand Slam champion has always loved his mother and thought that, in contrast to her boxer father Mike, she was a peacemaker. While his mother Betty was his equal strength even when he was away playing tennis, she had no interest in the sport and had never gone to the tennis court to watch him play.
Andre Agassi describes his ‘nasty’ grandmother
The eight-time Grand Slam champion in his autobiography wrote about his grandmother and described her relationship with his father. According to the American tennis star, his grandma was put on a to annoy his father to nag him when he was a young boy.
He wrote, “She’s a nasty old lady from Tehran, with a wart the size of a walnut on the edge of her nose. Sometimes you can’t hear a word she’s saying because you can’t take your eyes off that wart. But it doesn’t matter, she’s surely saying the same nasty things she said yesterday, and the day before, and probably saying them to my father.”

The former player referred to her grandma as a wart and thought she was just a cranky old woman complaining about his native land. The tennis pro, who was just eight, was also extremely annoyed by his grandma lingering and advising him and his siblings all day around.
Andre adores and admires his mother, Betty
The eight-time Grand Slam champion always cherished his mother and referred to her as the home’s peacemaker because she was so adept at managing his father’s rage. Even as a small child, the 13-star adored solving puzzles with his mother. The American tennis player claimed that his father had been fortunate to marry Betty. Agassi has always respected his mother’s ability to run the household and her fortitude.
