On Tuesday night at the Mexican Open, Alexander Zverev and Marcelo Melo played in a doubles match together against Lloyd Glasspool and Harri Heliovaara. Unfortunately, the Brazilian and German pair lost to the lucky losers in three competitive sets.
However, one interesting thing happened during the match which rocked the tennis community. During the match, Zverev lost his cool and started hitting the chair umpire’s stand where he was sitting. Although the German player didn’t hit the chair umpire, his aggressiveness was clearly visible. After this incident, many fans are reacting on social media and some of them even want a ban on Zverev.

What exactly happened?
During the super tie-break, when the score was 8-6 in favor of Glasspool and Heliovaara, Melo was serving, and the line judge and the chair umpire called return ball in. However, Melo and Zverev both thought the ball was out, including the crowd. That made Zverev furious, and after the match, vented all of his frustration in that manner.

Part 1: It was within the 8/9-6 of the super tie-break on whether or not the ball was in or out. Melo/AZ thought the ball was in, but replay (and spectators) convinced it was out.

It was reckless from Zverev to do what he did after the match as the German was punished with a tournament default from Acapulco organizers.
