World no.1 Daniil Medvedev has endured a tough season in 2022 as he is getting ready for the US Open swing. Recently, he played at the Canadian Open, where he lost his opening match against the Aussie player and this year’s Wimbledon finalist, Nick Kyrgios.

However, after the match, the crowd at the Canadian Open shouted ‘loser’ jibe at the Russian star. After hearing this, Medvedev stopped and had a heated conversation with the crowd, which forced the security to step in.

During the round of 32 match-up at the National Bank Open, Medvedev lost against Nick Kyrgios in three sets. Safe to say, it was an intense match as both the players played some unbelievable tennis to entertain the crowd.

However, after the match, Medvedev was leaving the arena as a crowd member chanted ‘loser’. As a result, Medvedev stopped and walked toward that particular section of the crowd.

Then, Daniil and one member of the crowd had a lengthy conversation about disrespecting him. The stadium security had to intervene between as Medvedev told the security members to calm down. You can watch the clip below.

In that clip above,  we saw him talking calmly to that crowd member. After that, he walked away and disappointment was clearly visible on the Russian’s face.

Medvedev finally won his first title in 2022 season at Los Cabos Open 2022

Earlier in August, Daniil Medvedev returned to the ATP tour after missing the Wimbledon Championships owing to its ban on Russian and Belarusian players. At the Los Cabos Open in Mexico, he showed tremendous form and defeated Cameron Norrie in the finals to win his first title of the season.

Although he is the world no.1, he is currently not having a great season in terms of trophies. Earlier, he suffered a heartbreaking loss in the final of the Australian Open. Then, he suffered an injury before the French Open, which hampered his chances at Roland Garros.

After that, he missed Wimbledon and is currently preparing for the US Open. The Russian is the defending champion as he defeated Novak Djokovic in the final. This year, he has a great opportunity once again to win his second Grand Slam title as the Serb will probably miss the Grand Slam event in New York.

Ahead of the final Grand Slam event of the year, Medvedev will play the Cincinnati Open, which will start from the 16th of August.
