The Academy’s prodigy, Casper Ruud beat Sock on the Day 1 singles match of the Laver Cup. Casper Ruud joined Rafael Nadal’s academy in 2018 and its disciplined training helped him win some crucial matches. Ruud played his maiden Grand Slam final at the French Open 2022. He played efficiently but lost to the legend Rafael Nadal in a straight three-set defeat 3-6, 3-6, 0-6.
