After sending a proposal, the Serbian tennis legend,  Novak Djokovic was scheduled to play an exhibition match against the Australian tennis star, Nick Kyrgios. However,  a ball boy’s volley stunned the 21-time singles Grand Slam champion. The crucial point from that volley further gave victory to Kyrgios.

The incident took place ahead of the first Grand Salm event of the season. The former world No. 1 previously send a proposal to his friend and rival to play a warm-up match prior to the Australian Open. It was Kyrgios who defeated the 9-time Australian Open champion with the help of a ball boy.

The Serbian tennis player playing alongside his close friend, Nick Kyrgios entertained a jam-packed stadium in Melbourne. The exhibition event was named The Arena Showdown after the Australian tennis player accepted a warm-up match offer from Novak Djokovic. The tickets for the thrilling match-up were sold out less than an hour after the event was announced.

The ATP stars played two sets of the exhibition match in a Fast 4 format. It was Kyrgios who won the first set 5-3 with his brilliant performance in his home country. Later on, the Serbian made a comeback in the second set by winning it 4-2. However, in the third set, fans were surprised when two ball kids joined Djokovic and Kyrgios. A ball boy joined Kyrgios while a ball girl teamed up with the 21-time singles Grand Slam champion.

Djokovic and Kyrgios were playing ‘Mic’d up’ tennis as they were making funny grunting noises during their match. The two ATP players were involved in a long rally during the super tie-break set. Surprisingly, it was the ball boy who stunned everyone with his ferocious volley that gave Kyrgios victory over Djokovic.

The whole crowd was amused after witnessing the exciting exhibition event between the two of the most exiting players on the ATP tour. The proceeds from the event in Melbourne will go to the Australian Tennis Foundation.

Who will Djokovic and Kyrgios play in the Australian Open?

A slew of tennis fans was hugely excited when the fixtures of the Grand Slam event in Melbourne came out. Djokovic, who has 9 Australian Open titles under his name, will now play against the Spaniard, Roberto Carballés Baena.

While Kyrgios has been put for a tie against the Russian, Roman Safiullin for the first-round match in Melbourne. The Australian tennis player is considered as one of the favorites to win the title in his home country.
