After making it to the last Grand Slam tournament’s final, the third-ranked tennis player has seen himself in a different role. While he has always drawn inspiration from the 36-year-old Serbian tennis player’s dedication, this time his octopus-style prowess on the court has stood out as an inspiration for a young kid.
Recently, the 2021 US Open champion took to his Twitter account to acknowledge a child’s effort to display skills that gave him the popular nickname Octopus. He wrote, “Inspiring new generations everywhere!”

The Russian tennis player is called Octopus for a reason. The way he has perfected the game as he is just able to get all the balls that not other tennis players are able to, making him stand out from the tennis crowd.
Nevertheless, he has not only inspired young kids to take up the sport or follow his approach to the game. He has also stood up as a role model for tennis players currently present in the circuit. When the 20-year-old tennis pro was preparing to face Iga Swiatek, in Indian Wells earlier this year, she made a significant disclosure about getting inspiration from Medvedev, and talked about how she got past the difficult match with Beatriz Haddad Maia to reach that event level.
According to Eurosport, the 2022 US Open champion said that she took inspiration from Daniil Medvedev, looking at the way he pushed himself to a three just a day ago during the third round of the same tournament and sealed a victory from his end.
