The G.O.A.T debate in sports is one for the ages. The likes of Serena Williams, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and many others have dominated the debate for almost decades. While the question still goes on, a difference of opinion is what keeps the fans divided. However, making his scene to the top was once regarded as a young prodigy named Novak Djokovic. In an era which saw the Swiss maestro and Rafa in their prime, the formidable force of Djokovic took the world by surprise.

However recently, a tweet by Eurosport had the fans off their seat as ignited the G.O.A.T debate once again raged power and the fans expressed their opinion on whether the Serb is the greatest athlete of all time or not.

Fans react as Novak Djokovic regarded as the greatest athlete of all time

Recently, Eurosport took to Twitter to highlight a fan’s comment which said that Novak Djokovic is the greatest athlete of all time. The tweet went viral as fans from all around the world went ahead and expressed their opinion on whether the said statement was true or not.

One fan took to Twitter and expressed his disapproval of the fact saying that Novak is not even the best athlete in his sport. “Man’s not even the best athlete in his sport.”

Another fan took to Twitter to highlight his opinion by saying the same fact that he is not even the greatest player in tennis. However, after dominating the sport and having won 23 grand slams, he is still not the greatest player, thinks the fan. “not even the greatest tennis player”

Another fan expressed his concern by saying that while the Argentinean wizard Lionel Messi and co are alive, there is no chance that he could be at the top of the list. “When Messi and co are alive? Delusional”

This fan highlighted the same fact and regarded Messi as the undisputed G.O.A.T rather than calling out Djokovic. “No 2nd greatest after Messi.”

“False, Michael Jordan is. It’s not just about accomplishments in their sport but what they accomplished beyond that too,” said another fan highlighting the issue that a GOAT is not only determined by his on-court accomplishments but what he has achieved beyond the court as well.

Another fan went down to highlight some of the significant names that have embarked on their respective sport. While the list had many male players, the list also saw the inclusion of Serena Williams, whom he regarded as the greatest female athlete of all time.

“Serena says hi!! Love Novak as he is my favorite male player of all time but until he wins a slam pregnant Serena is the greatest of all time.” While Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic are both tied on 23 slams each, this fan said that for Novak to be the greatest, he will have to win at least one more grand slam and move past the record held by both Serena and Novak.

Making the list was one more Micahel Jordan fan who suggested that MJ is the greatest athlete the sport ever saw and for the ages, he’ll still be one. “No… Far from it, Michael Jordan is the alpha and omega of sport. Forever and ever.”

Thus, the G.O.A.T debate is a thing that would be on for years to come.
