Alexander Zverev has a new strategy to inspire tennis enthusiasts! The German’s performance graph in the clay court season skyrocketed recently. After clinching the title in Rome, he attained a position in the fourth round at Roland Garros, waiting to unleash the battle against Holger Rune. While top-ranked players like Novak Djokovic are known for their fierce presence, Zverev plans on motivating the younger generations with a different approach.

In a recent press conference after his massive win over Tallon Griekspoor, the German ATP star revealed how he has made himself a better player, in terms of limiting the aggression on the court. “I told myself I want to become a different type of player and different type of role model as well in a way um I don’t break racquets anymore, um, I barely get warnings,” Zverev said, mentioning how his overall presence on the court has taken a positive turn.

Adding the reason behind why he decided to make amends in his nature, Zverev stated, “I kind of had this conversation with myself and I realized that you know I don’t do any good to myself and especially to people and kids watching so, I’m glad it’s working out. I mean, I worked on myself quite a lot uh in that department.”

The history books of tennis have recorded several incidents where Alexander Zverev lost control over his emotions and therefore vented out his frustration on the court. Out of the most discussed ones, the Madrid Open 2022 saw the most fierce and downgrading form of the German ATP star. During one of his doubles matches, Zverev smashed his racket on the umpire’s chair three times, telling the official that he “destroyed the whole match”.

On the other hand, Novak Djokovic, who is also known as one of the most followed tennis stars, is frequent in laying such examples with acts of frustration. While people still like to follow him for his unmatched dominance, Zverev sees things in a different way and therefore sets his presence accordingly.

Alexander Zverev being apologetic for his fierce acts

Despite losing his cool during a few of his matches, Alexander Zverev has always made efforts to keep his image clean. While the tennis star incurred many incidents of smashing his racket and facing circumstances that followed, he still stayed positive enough to regret the acts of rage and therefore remains apologetic.

Back when the tennis star had to withdraw because of his irrelevant move at the Madrid Open 2022, the German took to social media to present an apology. “It is difficult to put into words how much I regret my behavior during and after the doubles match yesterday,” he said, in a statement shared on Instagram.

Along with that, he also cleared the air with the chair umpire, which he informed fans in the same statement. “I have privately apologized to the chair umpire because my outburst towards him was wrong and unacceptable, and I am only disappointed in myself. It just should not have happened and there is no excuse,” he added.

Alexander Zverev is currently on top of his form at the Roland Garros. The fact that he has been paying close attention to his image makes it clear that he wishes to establish his name as a positive figure.
