The tennis world experienced a unique yet amazing showdown as the United Cup commenced its first-ever season this year. While it has been nearly a year since the event, fans are eagerly waiting for the sequel season to begin. As the preparations have already begun for the anticipated event, a series of questions still surround the scene. Will Novak Djokovic play? Will Carlos Alcaraz hold a position in the chart? Where will the tournament take place?
While the event has been covered with dense clouds of questions because of its unique and new nature, the recently released data answered many of them.
While the tournament recently received its positions out of 2023’s ATP and WTA rankings, the final chart has been prepared with the positions of players locked, to begin with the group stages matches. Scheduled to be played in Perth and Sydney, the group stage matches have a confirmed entry of Serbia with Novak Djokovic in a face-off against China for his first match on 31st December.

Followed by the first face-off, Serbia’s second group stage match will be played against the Czech Republic on 2nd January. Besides Serbia, Spain also received a spot in Group A, along with countries like Poland and Brazil. However, Carlos Alcaraz’s name missed the spot, with Alejandro Davidovich Fokina representing the country.
As tennis fans are eagerly waiting for the new season to begin, the unique concept of the United Cup is all set to bring a mixed-doubles face-off against 18 countries from all around the world. Although the list missed Alcaraz’s name, but is sure to make a compensation with other major entities in the game.

The uniquely derived list of the United Cup 2024 features 18 countries, gaining their positions out of the 2023 year-end rankings of ATP and WTA players. Coming to the WTA’s side of the game, world no.1 Iga Swiatek will show her participation in the game along with other top rankers like Jessica Pegula and Maria Sakkari.
