After witnessing some quality tennis at the Laver Cup 2021, it’s time for the Indian Wells Masters 2021. The ATP 1000 Masters tournament will be kicking off from October 4, 2021. Fans are excited by the prospect of mouth-watering encounters in the desert. However, there are speculations about whether Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic will play at the tournament or not.
The ‘Big 3’ haven’t competed together in a tennis tournament since the French Open 2021. There too, Roger Federer withdrew after the first week of the Grand Slam.

Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and Rafael Nadal to skip the Indian Wells Masters 2021
It is a huge disappointment for fans that Federer, Djokovic, and Nadal will not be playing at the Indian Wells Masters 2021. Interestingly, 2021 is the first time since 2000 that neither of the ‘Big 3’ will feature at the BNP Paribas Open.

While Federer and Nadal have already ended their 2021 season because of injuries, Djokovic recently announced that he would not be taking part at the Masters event this year. Thus, it gives the next-gen superstars a golden opportunity to shine on the court.

Federer and Djokovic have conquered Indian Wells five times each
Currently, Federer and Djokovic are tied for winning the most number of Indian Wells Masters. While both have won the trophy five times, Nadal has managed to win the title thrice in his career.

Intriguingly, Federer has played ten finals at the BNP Paribas Open. Even though he accomplished a hat-track of titles in his early career, it is Djokovic who denied him the trophy on two back-to-back occasions, defeating him in the finals.

It seems unlikely that the trio will feature together in a tournament before the Australian Open 2022. Who will be able to end his career with the most Grand Slam titles?
