The exciting clay court clash between Tommy Paul and David Goffin was all tied at 4-4 in the first set when a spectator unexpectedly invaded the court. It appeared to be a part of his planned protest, as he was also spotted shouting something in French. The players were forced to walk off the court due to the intervention.

Despite the disturbance, the security guard was quick to react while the umpire and another official also made attempts to resolve the issue. With the entire stadium booing at him, the spectator eventually decided to walk off the court and was subsequently led out by the officials.
