Roger Federer is a name that is mostly synonymous with greatness in tennis. After having won numerous titles and 20 Grand Slams, the Swiss star decided to hang up his racket and put an end to his decades-long tennis career. Now enjoying his post-retirement life, the Swiss maestro keeps himself engaged in multiple ventures along with spending quality time with his family. But his love for tennis is not going anywhere, as he himself admitted.

The Swiss star’s life away from tennis, at the moment, seems to keep him engaged in multiple things. So much so, that he barely even manages to keep track of the daily matches and the tournaments that take place. Reflecting on the same, Roger Federer, in a recent interview, highlighted how, amid his busy schedule, he takes some time out to watch out the scores. He also gave his insights about the Wimbledon final this year and how he was unable to track the complete event despite facing a massive threat from Novak Djokovic.

Talking to Ursin Caderas of ATP Media, Roger Federer revealed his approach to following tennis results and his honest perspective on watching matches. Federer, a tennis legend with a record eight Wimbledon titles to his name, expressed that he keeps a close eye on results. However, his busy life, including raising children, makes it challenging to sit through full matches. Instead, he often likes watching highlights on platforms like YouTube to gain a better understanding of the games.

Despite his remarkable Wimbledon achievements, Federer admitted that during this year’s final between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz, he only managed to catch a few games due to parental responsibilities and other commitments. But thanks to Alcaraz, Roger Federer’s Wimbledon record of 8 titles is still secure.

‘Wimbledon final, I literally only saw a couple of games that day because we’re running around with the kids and doing stuff. Then at one point I quickly checked in just to say like ?Okay, I saw the Wimbledon final a little bit.? Of course, I was curious, I was checking the scores from time to time, but for me to sit down is hard,” said Federer in the interview.

Thus, despite having major success at the grass courts, the post-retirement life for Federer has made it difficult for him to focus on tennis much. Amidst a tight schedule, he makes sure to keep things in check while making time for other stuff as well.
