Wimbledon gave us all several surprises. Both the men’s and women’s singles finals were a delight to watch. Along with them, several other players found a fresh wind in their stint. One such player was Christopher Eubanks, who ousted Stefanos Tsitsipas and Cameron Norrie on his way to the quarterfinal. Although eliminated in the final stages, Eubanks showed us his real prowess in the Grass Slam. Now, the American player is back on his feet and competing in his home tournament for a chance at glory.

Eubanks’ exit from the Grass Slam was a sad day for several American fans. The 27-year-old was the only American player to reach the final stages but saw himself defeated by Daniil Medvedev. Regardless, he was applauded by his country, with several people encouraging him to stay in shape and achieve even better results in the future.

The Wimbledon quarterfinalist has stepped back into the professional arena as he sets his sights on the next big prize. Christopher Eubanks is back on tour after his exit from SW19 and maintains his stellar form. Hailing from Atlanta, there was no way the 6’7″ player would miss the Atlanta Open on his home turf. Hyping up his return further, Eubanks has already won his opening match of the tournament.

Playing against Andres Martin, Eubanks was able to collect an easy victory as he won 6-2, 6-4 in straight sets. To celebrate his return home and his victory, the World No. 32 uploaded a few pictures on Instagram. One picture shows him with his fans, another shows him during active play and in a third, he is shaking hands with NFL quarterback Cameron Newton.?

During his post-match conference, Eubanks said that he was happy to be home and playing in front of his favorite crowd: “Atlanta means everything. It’s the place where I started playing tennis.” He then became nostalgic, “It’s?the place I played countless junior tournaments.. It’s where I found my game & found a love for the sport. It always had a special place in my heart, it always will??“.

Christopher Eubanks is now enjoying his time home as he preps for the next big Slam – the US Open. If he carries his momentum through, he may just find himself landing in the final stages once again. For now, the tall player will keep the encouraging words of his countrymen in his mind to power forward.
