Carlos Alcaraz had set high expectations for his fans for him when he won Wimbledon after defeating Novak Djokovic. But after that, he has had a tough season in the tournaments that followed. He lost to Jannik Sinner in the finals of the China Open and now his journey at the Shanghai Masters has also ended.

Not just him, but all the top-seeded players with rankings from 1 to 10 have struggled to keep their performances consistent this season in the past few tournaments. And it’s not just us who have noticed this, but also the fans are getting a little frenzy about this.

A totally unexpected turn of events happened for Alcaraz when he lost the match to Grigor Dimitrov in the third round of the Shanghai Masters. On the other hand, Dimtrov had the biggest win of the season when he defeated the world no. 2 and reached the tournament’s quarter-finals.

Carlos also lost to Jannik Sinner in the finals of the China Open where everyone was expecting him to win. This loss has left Alcaraz to lose his chance at winning his Year End ATP world no. 1 ranking. He was also chasing his seventh crown of the season with Shanghai Masters which won’t be happening now.

It’s not just Alcaraz, other top-seeded players are losing left and right as well such as Holger Rune, Daniil Medvedev, and Casper Ruud.

Fans get annoyed as the top-seeded players get inconsistent with their game on tours

Ranked no. 5 Holger Rune also could not make his way ahead in both tournaments that happened in China including the China Open and Shanghai Masters. He lost in the first round of the Shanghai Masters and in the second round of the China Open against Grigor too. Even Casper Ruud lost the third round in both the Shanghai and China Open.

Even Medvedev lost in the second round of Shanghai. The worst part is that most of these matches were lost against players who are not in the top 10 rankings. Tennis fans are totally not taking it and showed their dissatisfaction in the comment section.

One of the first comments was, “Rune, Zverev, Medvedev, Fritz, Tsitsipas, Ruud, Sinner, and now Alcaraz?? What happened with those top 10 players???” Since all the top 10 players one by one are exiting Shanghai and others are winning, this totally makes sense for us.

Another comment said, “Bruh what is happening, The Top 10 are falling like leaves.” This comment implies the same dissatisfaction. Tennis fans want to see the top 10 excelling but this time around, things are taking a turn which is unexpected for all.

Another comment also said, “Carlos seems to be too early to get the world’s highest rank“. It clearly means that now fans are thinking that Carlos maybe did not deserve to become world number one so soon.

Someone also made a fun comment about how since Alcaraz and Sinner are both out now, they can go on a date!

A tennis fan was really disappointed with Carlos which is why he wrote, “Alcaraz wtf bro“. It seems like Carlos losing this match has brought down a lot of fans’ expectations.

One of the fans also compared Grigor’s playing style with Roger’s. The comment said, “So good Grigor. Carlos never faced Roger but this is the level and style of tennis Roger produced so Carlos now knew what he missed.
