Daniil Medvedev is at the top of his game currently. The Russian is putting on consistent performances tournament after tournament. Although he lost the summit clash at the Australian Open 2022 in a dramatic fashion, the 26-year-old would be proud of his campaign, in which he went against a spirited Rafael Nadal in a five-setter thriller.

However, Medvedev’s moment to cherish came at the US Open last season. He defeated World Number 1 Novak Djokovic in the summit clash to win his maiden Grand Slam title. Additionally, he stopped Djokovic’s juggernaut by preventing him from winning all four major titles in a calendar year.

Recently, a bizarre incident occurred at the Delray Beach Open in the United States. The Russian has reacted to the incident, albeit in a humorous way.

Daniil Medvedev reacts after his favorite car gets a hit

The incident took place during the quarterfinal match between fellow Americans Tommy Paul and Stefan Kozlov. The former was serving in the eighth game of the first set. While returning the service, Stefan Kozlov accidentally hit the BMW car kept at the corner of the court with his racquet.

Further, Daniil Medvedev hilariously said, “Listen…no problem to see you hit returns back there….but don’t hit the BMW! That’s my favorite car.”

Tommy Paul and Stefan Kozlov were battling for a place in the Delray Beach Open semifinals. Paul convincingly won the encounter in straight sets 6-3, 6-1 in an hour and 19 minutes. Further, he will take on the top seed Cameron Norrie in the semifinals.

Medvedev’s love for BMW

It is no secret that the Russian is a fan of sports cars, especially from BMW. His first car was a BMW M4, a car he still has at his home in Monaco. Speaking about cars, Medvedev had said, “I have always dreamed of driving fast sports cars since I was young and since being a little bit good in tennis, not as good as right now, I was happy to buy a BMW.”

Further, Medvedev also has endorsement deals with the German luxury vehicles manufacturer. Medvedev would be looking to continue his good start to the 2022 season in the coming tournaments. He will next play at Abierto Mexicano in Acapulco, Mexico.
