It’s quite natural that every fan wishes to meet their idol at some point. No matter how successful you are, you will always have a soft spot for your idol. Even, successful tennis players dream to meet their favorite players from the previous era someday. The young Danish gun, Holger Rune is the best example for the above-mentioned statements. He is a well-known Roger Federer fan and he wishes to meet his idol someday.
The world number 6 has been climbing up the ranks and at just 20 years of age he finds himself as a contender for big tournaments. The Dane also tries to emulate certain aspects of Federer’s game like getting inside the line and exploiting the forecourt. Despite all the limelight, he never fails to express his love for the Swiss Maestro.
Rune admitting that he wants to meet Roger Federer

The Dane participated in a rapid-fire 60-second question-and-answer session hosted by Tennis TV. He responded to about six questions but the one that caught everyone’s eye included the Swiss Maestro.
When asked about one person he’d like to meet, Rune replied, “I would like to meet Roger Federer again. I met him once, but like I want to meet him real.”

Rune has already had the luxury of meeting Roger Federer in the past but he said he would want to use any opportunity to meet him again. In fact, the Dane was lucky enough to share the court with his idol.
When did Holger Rune share court with Roger Federer?
Rune shared the court with Roger Federer at the 2019 Nitto ATP World Tour Finals. He also practiced with Novak Djokovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas on the first couple of days. But on the third day, his dream came true. The Dane finally managed to share the court with Federer and practice with the 20-time major champion.
Rune later revealed to The Slice Tennis that he did not really feel nervous while practicing with other tour members. However, he felt quite nervous after learning that he would be hitting with Federer. In fact, he also said that he felt like Federer when the crowd cheered for him against Djokovic at the US Open 2021.

The Dane also posted the picture from their 2019 practice on his Instagram on the Swiss Maestro’s retirement. He thanked him for the memories and said that his tennis would always be inspiring.
