America looks all set to welcome the newest brand of tennis, as the Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS) will make its debut in the States on Friday, 21st July. The showdown will take place for the first time in three years, after its inaugural edition in Nice. As the tournament heads to America, the local Americans will be excited to take the court. Frances Tiafoe, Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton are going to feel at home here.
However, Taylor Fritz is expected to receive more support than his American counterparts as he comes from California. It would be very similar to the reception he has received at Indian Wells in recent years. The local boy has also revealed what music he would like to hear during the showdown.

UTS is unlike other tennis events. It has a DJ performing on the court in order to keep the crowd’s energy intact in between the points. So, when Fritz was asked which song he would like to hear whenever he hit an ace, he responded by naming a couple of artists. The world number 9 said via Tennis Majors, “Probably go for something like Central Cee or Lil Uzi (Vert).” Fritz has registered exactly 3400 aces in his professional career, so we can expect the DJ to be a busy man in the UTS. The selection of music artists does suggest that Fritz is into rap music. Frl
The American also expects plenty of crowd support here. In fact, he deserves some crowd backing after a nightmarish encounter with the French crowd in this year’s Roland Garros.

During his round 2 encounter against Arthur Rinderknech, Taylor Fritz was heavily jeered by the French crowd. In order to support the local boy, they ended up disrespecting the American. Fritz famously said after that match, “They literally threw a party every time I missed a 1st serve.” Scenes got really ugly towards the end of the match, but the American managed to prevail in four sets. After the match, he made sure to mock the crowd with a ‘finger on his lip’ gesture.

“They literally threw a party every time I missed a 1st serve. I was respectful bc I didn’t want to make it worse the whole time. But when it was over I said ‘Whatever, if I’m going to take this s**t for 3 hours, I’m allowed to do this” pic.twitter.com/kKuAZ7IQnx
