The Serbian international tennis team featuring Novak Djokovic enjoyed a triumphant campaign at the 2010 Davis Cup. In the championship match, the Serbian side secured their first title after defeating France 3-2 with the help of some crucial contributions from the ‘Djoker’.
During his campaign at the premier international team event, the current world No. 1 brushed aside the likes of Gael Monfils and John Isner as he guided his team to their first international glory. However, in addition to their title-winning run, the Serb caught the attention of the public owing to his post-match celebrations.
Back in 2010, the 24-time singles Grand Slam champion had his head shaved to celebrate his nation’s phenomenal win. After his compatriot Viktor Troicki secured the final win for Serbia, the Djoker was sighted receiving a special haircut from his teammates on the courtside. Later, in an interview with the International Tennis Federation, Djokovic revealed that shaving the head was a ‘part of the pact’ that he had with his teammates.

The 36-year-old loves playing at SW19 and is further regarded as one of the greatest players to grace the grass courts. During his illustrious journey on the tour, Djokovic secured seven crowns at arguably the most prestigious Grand Slam tournament. While marking each triumph at the Wimbledon Championship, the ‘Djoker’ has ardently kept up with an unusual method of celebration.
Back in 2011, the Serb stunned the audience after his first major title on the grass as he pulled off a bizarre post-match celebration. After overcoming Rafael Nadal in the final, Djokovic collapsed to the turf in ecstasy and later picked up a piece of grass to eat. Since that triumphant moment in London, it has become a tradition for the Serbian tennis ‘GOAT’ to eat the grass after every win at Wimbledon as part of his post-match celebrations.
