Novak Djokovic is not someone who is a clean figure. Controversy seems to follow the world number 1 wherever he goes. He was recently the headline of every news agency once again. This time for his ban on Miami Open and Indian Wells Masters. However, the general opinion seems to be in his favor this time. Several reporters believe that it was wrong of the country to ban the player from entering. Bill Maher also believes this and has spoken against his country’s policy.

Bill Maher is not the only celebrity who has spoken for the Serb. The American player’s John Isner and Reilly Opelka have also offered their support for Djokovic and called the policy ridiculous.

Several people have spoken out in favor of Djokovic. This time, a comedian has spoken out regarding his country’s “stupidity”. Maher first gave details of the situation, saying that Djokovic can’t get into the country for the Miami Open. He further told that Djokovic has had Covid twice and remains unvaccinated. Maher said that presumably natural immunity was better than the vaccine.

He cannot get into America. He’d like to be playing the uh, I think it’s coming up, the Miami Open or something. He is unvaccinated, but he’s had Covid twice. Again, natural immunity, something we always used to understand as, like, better than the actual vaccine. Somehow, that got to be reversed.

Maher further added that even the head of the Miami tour tried to get Djokovic into the country by saying that he was not a danger. Maher ranted about the situation. He said that the ‘stupidity in the country is immortal’.

But the head of the Miami tournament, I read a quote from him yesterday. He’s trying to get Djokovic in and he said, ‘There doesn’t seem to be any imminent danger’. Imminent danger, of a man playing tennis, of a man who has had it twice, standing alone, a sport where you’re alone, in the middle of a stadium outside, in a country where everyone’s already had it “imminent danger”. This country’s stuck on stupid, it really is.
