Even though the season’s first Grand Slam event is about to begin, there have been numerous controversies surrounding it up to this point. The Australian Open organizers have warned fans not to boo Novak Djokovic who was previously deported from the country. They have warned them for throwing them out if they try to target the 21-time singles Grand Slam champion. However, tennis player Stan Wawrinka did not seem happy with this decision.
There are a few in the tennis community who were not impressed with the protocol set up by the authorities in Melbourne. The Swiss tennis player is among those who fired back at the Australian Open organizers for threatening fans to not boo Djokovic. He further claimed that the fans should be allowed to boo the Serbian tennis player because “that’s tennis”.
