He also remarked that the 36-year-old’s skipping the season may prove to be a genuine issue. Jimmy voiced his concerns about the Spanish superstar’s future in light of his struggles with age and injury. He said, “It’s sad that the 14-time champion won’t be there. We won’t see him in the festivities. You know, we have talked about it so many times. He doesn’t opt out of clay events at all. My focus was the US Open, his focus is on as you can see 14-time winner, the French. For him to not be there, that’s a serious problem. And he says 2024 is gonna be his last year if he gets there.”

Furthermore, he marveled at the extra burden that comes from opponents always striving to outmaneuver the champion.

Jimmy also voiced, “I see the effort he played with, never letting a shot go by, playing with maximum effort. You know everybody is gunning for him. And he tries to outlive that. I know that I have been there and done that. It’s not easy. ”
