The ATP legend’s ex-wife had a rollercoaster ride in her personal and professional life. Recently, Shields opened up about her mother’s role in her life. She described how being the daughter of an alcoholic affected her behavior.
She talked about her mother’s unpredictable behavior due to heavy drinking habits and said, “I chose to be a type A person because I had to keep everything else in order to feel like I had control. You never know what’s going to happen with an alcoholic parent. The primary thing is they go away. The person you know leaves. And you are left alone.”
Soon after that, Shields also expressed her gratitude to her mother and how much she cared about her. Although Shields’ life got affected by her mother, she made a compromised statement about her, “If you didn’t care, you wouldn’t give a shit.”

Shields expressed her respect for Agassi
The eight-time Grand Slam winner went through a tough time during his divorce with Shields. However, Shields had immense respect for Agassi.
