Roger Federer stepped down from tennis following this year’s Laver Cup. The tennis pro is renowned for his serenity and his cordial interactions with other tennis players, pundits, and folks. Recently, the veteran broadcaster recalled an occasion that included the Swiss maestro’s sporting dream.

This year, the 66-year-old broadcaster resigned from her position as the BBC’s Wimbledon coverage host. After participating in Wimbledon coverage for nearly two decades, she made this choice.

After winning the lifetime achievement award, the 66-year-old Wimbledon broadcaster recalls a conversation that she had with the Swiss Maestro Roger Federer considering the 20-time Grand Slam Champions’ dream.

She also remembers the heartbreaking moment when she called it quits on her two-decade career at Wimbledon. She said, ?You don’t really realize it and I remember all the Champions were there, and I really got crying. The more they cheered, the more I cried.? The broadcaster was sobbing as she remembered something the eight-time Wimbledon champion had previously told her.

Sarcastically she added that while crying, she looked at the swiss maestro and who won?t look at him? She said, ?And looked over at Roger Federer……. and I remember, every time I interviewed, I always ask him about the best moment of his career. And he said winning my first Wimbledon is all I have dreamt of, but he said you made me cry and all I had is blubbing.? Barker recoiled her famous interview question that she has asked Federer many times and got the same response to it again and again.
Federer to take up the Wimbledon broadcasting role next
Earlier this year, both the Wimbledon broadcaster and the 20-time Grand Slam champion announced their retirement from their respective arenas. The swiss maestro put his racket away after playing his last match at the Laver Cup.

However, the British legend has intimated that Federer may be present behind the microphones at the upcoming Wimbledon championship. John McEnroe, Martina Navratilova, and Billie Jean King are among the Wimbledon BBC analysts. This year the 20-time Grand Slam champion may also be a part of the tournament.
