Carlos Alcaraz Garfia first entered the limelight when he beat both Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic in the same tournament in 2022. He later cemented his place as the next best thing in men’s tennis by clinching his first Grand Slam title at the 2022 US Open, garnering the attention of the entire tennis world. Alcaraz ended up as the world number 1, making him the youngest ATP star to achieve the feat. His jump was also the biggest, from number 32 to number 1 in one year. One would be curious about the player’s abilities after knowing that. But after his match with Jannik Sinner in the Indian Wells Masters, all doubts will vanish. Alcaraz won a fantastic point against Sinner, which showed his quick thinking skills, and amazed the crowd and the people watching at home.
Carlos Alcaraz is through to the finals. After five matches, Alcaraz has reached the finals of the BNP Paribas Open for the first time in his career. In the final, Alcaraz is set to face another former world no.1, Daniil Medvedev.

During Alcaraz’s serve, he showed why he has reached the top 10 at a very young age. He showed off his incredible positioning and quick thinking skills. Alcaraz served to Sinner, which was returned with a forehand drive. The two traded shot after shot; when Alcaraz hit a forehand cross-court, it forced Sinner out of the court. Despite that, the Italian star managed to return a powerful shot.
Alcaraz hit down the line and moved up the court. Sinner tried to put the ball past him but Alcaraz returned a volley. A lob attempt from Sinner forced Alcaraz to take a few steps back, however he managed a drop shot and moved back to the baseline, which forced Sinner to the net. After the Italian moved towards the net, the Spaniard masterfully executed a lob which won him the point.
The audience was amazed at the display of skills. The video of the point was posted on Twitter by ATP Tour’s official Twitter account and fans weren’t far behind in talking about the tremendous skills on display.
A fan posted a GIF that perfectly showed the reaction of the entire tennis fanbase after that point.
