The 20-time Grand slam champion has an irreplaceable place in the hearts of fans, which is why many love to see him on the court as much as possible. But at the same time, they value his emotions as well. Therefore, here’s how they reacted.

Some resonated with Federer and wrote emotional messages on Twitter. A fan tweeted, “I’m not ready yet….. never…..”

Further, others understood why the Swiss Maestro was trying to delay the farewell event at Basel, considering the state he was in during the Laver Cup.

One wrote, “In hindsight, I feel he did the right thing. Going through all of that again after such a grand farewell seems too rushed. It is obvious we’ll see him in Basel one day, as a special guest, maybe honoring the winners & specially treating ball kids with pizzas.”

While the other, in a lighter tone, mentioned. “He said that’s enough of being a crying mess in front of everyone for the whole year, okay”

Also, the fans who were waiting for the ATP 500 event just to see the former World No.1 one more time were disheartened. As one shared a GIF of the movie Lilo and Stitch’s comically famous dialogue, “Leave me alone to die.”

Whereas a fan was relieved that he didn’t rush to the ticket counters. “Good thing I didn’t book tickets.”
