This time, the matter that caught flame was related to the newcomer, Felix Auger-Aliassime’s reign in the Swiss Indoors Basel.

Felix Auger Aliassime, the 22-year-old Canadian tennis professional, secured his consecutive third ATP title of the season on 30th October against the Danish professional Holger Rune in Basel. This was this third indoor title as well. And this factor in turn sparked the “GOAT Felix has won more indoor titles in three weeks than Nadal has in 20 years!” talks.

Nadal has only two indoors trophies marked under his name. The fact that he falls way behind the young blood stunned fans and they expressed their thoughts regarding the same. Some praised Auger Aliassime for showing a marvelous game. One wrote, “FAA is the Real Deal(tm) of the week.”

What lies ahead for Nadal?

The 36-year-old hasn’t played a single match since his best friend and biggest rival Roger Federer’s retirement. They played together for one last time in the O2 arena of Laver Cup before the Swiss Maestro packed his bags forever. However, in his defense, he welcomed his firstborn post at the tournament and was keeping busy settling things for his wife and son.

The 2022 Australian Open and French Open reigning champion is now ready for some on-court action. He has enrolled for the Paris Masters and on 1st November will be playing his first match. Following this tournament Nadal will make a trip to Turin and fight for the ATP Finals trophy there.
