Carlos Alcaraz stunned the tennis fraternity after he made his way into the finals of the Roland Garros for the first time. Despite coming fresh off injury, the Spaniard displayed true character and managed to defeat his opponent while the odds were stacked against him. With just one step remaining away from him and the trophy, he stands a brilliant chance to win his 3rd grand slam title.

However, per the former Australian pro, his chances of laying his hands on the title are slim. Paul McNamee, a former ATP player recently came ahead and voiced his opinion on the ongoing issues with Carlos Alcaraz. He suggested that even though he might have won the match, the levels that he showed last year were not the same that he did today. While adding that something is clearly missing, he suggested that he only has 2 days to work on his forearm. He cites his forearm as one of the best and called it the ‘king forehand of right-handers.’

“Look Alcaraz won the match, but it was not a particularly high standard…. nothing like the level he displayed all RG last year, until he got cramps v Djokovic. Something is amiss, maybe the arm? He has 2 days to sort out his forehand, which was the King forehand of right-handers,” said Paul in his tweet.

Thus, while Carlos might have made his way into the finals, his levels are not the same as they were last year according to the Australian Tennis Pro. However, with 2 days left to completely get back on track, he will be looking to make the most of his time and try to lay his hands on the 3rd grand slam. However, after winning his match against Sinner, he took a moment to comprehend Jannik Sinner, who was recently crowned the world number 1.

Carlos Alcaraz appreciates Jannik Sinner for his new milestone at the French Open

Taking to his Instagram, Carlos Alcaraz took a moment to post a story as he suggested that the two had a great battle. While suggesting that there are plenty more battles to come between the two, he congratulated him for his recent world number 1 milestone that he got by overthrowing Novak Djokovic. “Another great battle @janniksin 🤝, one of many more to come! Congratulations for the No.1 and for your tournament! 💪🏻” captioned Alcaraz in his Instagram story.

According to Alcaraz, “it was one of the toughest matches” he has played throughout his career. “The toughest matches I’ve played in my short career have been against Jannik. US Open, this one, and I hope to play many, many more matches like this one against Jannik – but it was one of the toughest matches, for sure,” – said Alcaraz.

With now the final in sight, the big question is: Will he be able to lay his hands on the prestigious clay title? Do let us know in the comments below!
