Should fans be worried about Zverev's health, given his team's stoic silence?

Alexander Zverev’s Laver Cup campaign ended on a worrying note after his defeat to Taylor Fritz, but there seems to be more behind the scenes than just a loss. Speculation is growing about Zverev’s health. In the past, Alexander Zverev’s health condition significantly impacted his performance, particularly during the Paris Olympics. This setback not only affected his Olympic aspirations but also raised concerns about his overall fitness moving forward. Fast forward to the recent Laver Cup, and the lingering effects of that injury were still evident.

The German star deflected post-match questions today citing “personal matters,” leaving fans concerned about what might be troubling him. Zverev seemed hesitant to provide specifics about his fitness and how it would affect his participation in future events when questioned about it, following his loss at the Laver Cup. “I was muzzled a bit by my management back there, by my brother and Sergej,” Zverev further added.

When his brother Mischa Zverev and manager Sergej Bubka were asked about Zverev’s health, they preferred to stay mum as well, calling it a “private matter.” Mischa Zverev added, “It’s about a person’s health, and we will not say anything about it.” Zverev has been grappling with health issues that have significantly affected his performance. It was particularly evident during the Paris Olympics, where he exited in the quarterfinals against Lorenzo Musetti.
