Tennis star Andy Murray‘s country is not at all paying heed to the improper infrastructure for young tennis enthusiasts. For tennis stars, tennis courts are essential to practice and develop their skills. However, Andy Murray’s country, Scotland is still ignorant of the needs of the tennis players. Despite having a legend like Murray, Scotland’s current tennis infrastructure remains not just difficult but quite impossible, especially during winter.

Now Murray has been always vocal about this issue. Previously when a young tennis kid was stopped from entering a tennis court in East Kilbride due to the authority’s ill maintenance, Murray raised the issue on social media. However, despite so many vocal complaints, Scotland still shows no sign of repercussion!

Recently a Scottish Jjounalist and an Andy Murray fan tweeted expressing the horror conditions of tennis in Scotland. He commented- “In Scotland right now, it’s dark by 3pm. It’s raining and freezing. Outdoor tennis courts are iced over and indoor courts cost £20 an hour. Wild to think there’s been so little change in the opportunities to play tennis in this country despite Andy Murray being from here…” 

This journalist’s tweet represented that despite having Andy Murray, Scottish authorities are too ignorant to understand that the harsh winter conditions make practice for tennis stars quite impossible. Since the indoor courts are also expensive, a normal kid can’t attempt to practice there.

Now Andy Murray previously seemed vocal about this issue. Along with local authorities and the sports sector, he aimed to bring a change to that.  Murray’s acknowledgment of a local Scottish girl barred from practicing on a tennis court for improper maintenance garnered the attention of Scotland’s Chief Executive of tennis, Blande Dodds. He spoke about having big ambitions and owning all the tennis facilities to operate them.

How did Andy Murray bring the most-awaited glory to Scotland?

Andy Murray is the second Scottish tennis star to win the Wimbledon trophy and that also twice. This surely tells how much he has become the pride of Scotland. Murray was established as a dominant tennis star during the greatest rivalry between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal and he earned the world’s number-one rank.

Murray won the 2012 US Open and with 2016 French Open. he brought two gold medals to Scotland in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. His excellent achievement surely brought Scotland global fame in tennis.

Despite Murray’s worldwide tennis fame, Scottish people are mad at the authorities for being too ignorant of the tennis infrastructure. If they want more youngsters to achieve Murray’s feet, they immediately need to pay attention to the athletes’ requirements.
