Nick Kyrgios is never away from the limelight, is he? Earlier this month, the Australian star announced that he still hasn’t recovered from his injury and will miss his home Grand Slam tournament. The 28-year-old has had a lengthy injury layoff and continues to be away from the sport. However, a major update dropped ahead of the Australian Open due to which some fans weren’t happy.
The Australian star played just one match last year and missed the rest of the season. With the peak years behind him, there have also been rumors of his retirement. For the AO at least, he’s trading his racket for a nic.

A few hours ago, popular European network Eurosport announced a major update regarding Kyrgios on social media. Taking to their official Twitter handle, Eurosport said that he will be joining their world-class commentary team at the 2024 Australian Open. While Kyrgios won’t be seen in action at the tournament, he still will be related to it in a commentator’s capacity.

Although Kyrgios has admitted that he is doing everything he can to make a comeback on the tennis court, his commentary stint is widely regarded by many as the first step towards his potential retirement. Towards the end of the last season, he also had a brief commentary stint with Tennis Channel. However, his inclusion in the commentary team hasn’t gone down well with the fans.

Kyrgios joins a star-studded commentary team, boasting the likes of Boris Becker and John McEnroe. In addition to his previous hosting stint, the Australian star will look to recover soon and make a comeback later this season.
