Nick has played only three tournaments this year, the Melbourne Open, the Australian Open, and the Wimbledon Championships. He has missed out on a major part of the year because of injuries. Raonic has not played a single competitive game since March, as he lost to Hubert Hurkacz at the Miami Open.

The pair will look to represent Team World at the Laver Cup this year, beginning from September. This will be the fourth edition of the men’s team event between Europe and rest of the world.

Kyrgios and Raonic have played together in two of the last three editions of the Laver Cup. Last year’s tournament had to be shifted to this year, as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak. Team World is yet to beat Europe in the Laver Cup, as they have lost all of the previous editions.
