Taylor Fritz‘s girlfriend, Morgan Riddle, dives headfirst into the world of tennis! Motivated by her partner, she is acquiring the skill from him directly. As Fritz’s hitting partner, Riddle just took on the clay court for the first time while they were in Paris for the French Open. However, the training was full of struggles for both the American and his girlfriend.

Before hitting the court for the French Open, the 26-year-old tennis player will be seen playing in the Geneva Open. While getting ready for the event, Riddle took to her Instagram account, to share the reality of what it looks like when both of them are on court.

She shared a video in which the 12th-ranked tennis player was teaching her how to serve. In that video, he said, “This is like, when you’re honestly hitting the ball,” explaining to her the exact position to play a serve. However, further, he added, “Don’t move, do not move that until you hit the ball, basically.”

As soon as she stepped on the court as a hitting partner, not only the social media influencer was frustrated with the way her learning was going on, but even her boyfriend was trying hard to teach her to play tennis on the clay court. Along with the video, she wrote, “Insta vs. reality” and highlighted how things look different in reality.

However, this is not the first time she has tried playing tennis. Last year, Fritz hit hard serves that Riddle found difficult to return during their tennis practice, as seen in a little video she posted to social media. In addition, he noted on X, though, that the brief video didn’t fully convey the context of their 45-minute session, stressing that he was truly teaching her a lesson.

The American wrote, on X, “She posted the 10 seconds of me bombing serves at her; she asked for it, not the 45 minutes of me giving a genuine lesson.” Not only that but, a few years earlier, in one of their early tennis sessions, the 26-year-old tennis star also made fun of his girlfriend, over her failed attempts at learning tennis, again and again.

According to Riddle’s Instagram post, a few years ago, the 25-year-old tennis star was teaching her how to play the sport on a rooftop court. The influencer frequently missed the mark with his shots during the session, which resulted in the ball bouncing off the playing surface. “You do that two more times, we won’t have any balls left,” Fritz responded in jest. He made fun of his girlfriend for her botched attempts at his tennis instruction during their time together.

The influencer remarked that she wanted to learn how to bounce the ball out of the net after a brief talk about the shots she was learning and his encouraging coaching before their tennis lesson abruptly ended. The American player said, “Okay, if you want me to teach you how to bounce the ball out of the net like I can do that.” 

She’s not only committed to improving her tennis game; she also wants to make tennis more fashionable. She highlighted the lesser-known facets of tennis in the US by posting glimpses of her time with her boyfriend on his tours on social media.
