“I have a son that I don’t get to see near as much as I’d like.” Apart from being a committed tennis player, Taylor Fritz is a committed father who never misses showing his caring side for his son, Jordan. The 27-year-old ATP Finals runner-up and World No.4 knows his next season is going to be hectic with little or no time to catch a break. Hence, he is not leaving the opportunity in his ongoing off-season to spend special moments with his young son while also enjoying the festive season on the eve of Christmas!
For the unversed, the American tennis sensation has got a son with his former partner and tennis pro Raquel Pedraza. Fritz married her in 2016 and she gave birth to Jordan in 2017. Two years later, however, the couple separated after their divorce in December 2019. But despite all the circumstances, Fritz’s inner father hasn’t left caring for Jordan. Every year, he tries to spend precious moments with him and this time, too, it’s no different.
On the eve of Christmas, Taylor took to his Instagram account and shared a sweet post. Dropping several pictures with Jordan, he wrote, “Celebrating Christmas early every year before I have to go to AUS 🫡 Merry Christmas and happy holidays from the Fritz boys ❤️🎄” The two were having a candid moment with Jordan making funny expressions and giving a precious smile with his father.

But this isn’t the first occasion this year of Taylor having a blast with his son. Back in October, he had shared a clip on social media where he was seen having a fun time with Jordan, playing a game of basketball inside their room. But who was the ultimate winner among the two?
Giving a caption to his video, Fritz revealed, “I ended up getting so into it I forgot I was recording and ended up with an over hour of us playing. But for the sake of time, I will just post this clip of the final score in my heartbreaking 21-19 loss to Jordan.”

While he’s performing his father duties, ATP pro Fritz is also equally focused on the next season. After reaching his career’s highest ranking and making it to the title clash of the season finale in Turin, his journey is looking exciting in 2025. In fact, an ex-pro has already hailed him as a ‘threat’ for others, going into the Australian Open.

Fritz couldn’t create history in 2024, but his accomplishments are praiseworthy. For example, he made it to the final of the US Open in September but couldn’t lift the trophy as Jannik Sinner beat him 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 in the championship battle. Then last month, at the ATP Finals in Turin, he succeeded in entering the final encounter against the World No.1. But the Italian didn’t give him any chance and took the match and trophy with a scoreline of 6-4, 6-4. Still, Fritz’s performance and improvement is something even some notable tennis figures have admired lately. Among them is former Australian pro Rennae Stubbs.

In an episode of the Rennae Stubbs podcast, Stubbs noted that Taylor has a massive chance to shine at the Australian Open next month. “I do think that he is going to be a threat at the Australian Open.” she said. Continuing further, she added, It’s a good court for him, he likes the heat, grew up in California, you know Melbourne’s pretty similar. I think he is going to be a real threat and I think he really learned a lot about himself and what he’s capable of at the US Open. I think he is capable of winning a slam next year.”
Earlier this year, Fritz made it to the QF round of the major Down Under. However, he couldn’t get past Serbia’s Novak Djokovic, who beat him 7-6, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. Will the American improve on his record in Australia this time? Only time will tell the answer.
