I think it’s great to just kind of have someone who is with you, supporting you, helping keep you focused,” Taylor Fritz said on his girlfriend Morgan Riddle, last year, admiring her role in his professional life. No matter where he travels, Riddle’s always by his side, cheering for the World No.4 and the 2024 US Open finalist from the stands. This year, too, she was in Melbourne to boost Fritz’s confidence down under. Sadly, he was ousted in the third round, after losing to Gael Monfils 6-3, 5-7, 6-1, 4-6. But Riddle was there to console him. And now she’s at it again, with Fritz kicking off his campaign in Dallas.

Morgan Riddle took to her Instagram on Thursday and shared a story. It featured an image, showing her watching beau Fritz’s first round encounter at the Dallas Open against France’s Arthur Rinderknech. Riddle even shared another story from NFL team Dallas Cowboys’ popular cheerleader Kylie Dickson. The latter had posted a brief clip of Fritz’s match on her IG story while writing, “here just to see @moorrgs bf win!!”

Well, it seems Riddle’s presence has also brought the winning luck for her boyfriend in Dallas. The ATP pro easily cruised through his first match of the event against Rinderknech. Fritz beat the Frenchman with a score line of 6-4, 6-2.

Ever since the two started dating in 2020, the social media influencer has shown a keen interest in tennis despite not being well-versed in the racket sport. And now, she’s become an important factor in Fritz’s professional journey!

When Taylor Fritz acknowledged girlfriend Morgan Riddle’s valuable presence in his career

Back in November 2024, talking to CNN, Taylor Fritz had showered praising words on Riddle for her contribution in his professional life. He said, “As someone who had nothing to do with tennis before, in Morgan’s case, she’s done an amazing job over the years, just kind of understanding.”

Acknowledging her dedication to support him across tours, he added, “She gets it, and she also understands what it takes each week and throughout the year to help me play my best tennis and feel my best. I think that’s a big thing – I just kind of have someone helping me at all times”

She’s been consistently seen screaming and cheering for Fritz from the stands. While previously she had no idea about the sport, now she’s become an expert at it. But how?

“It’s mostly because Taylor loves to talk about the sport. Some players I think don’t have the tennis IQ that he has, and he really likes to dissect everything,” Riddle revealed while talking to The Age last month. “I have to know what he’s talking about, you know? So we can have the banter about it. So I’ve gotten pretty knowledgeable.”

Speaking of her boyfriend, he’s now all set to play his second round match at the Dallas Open. On Friday, the 27-year-old will go against Denis Shapovalov. The Canadian is coming off his win against Serbian Miomir Kecmanović. He beat him 6-3, 6-7, 6-3 on Thursday. Fritz and Shapovalov’s face-off in the second round is expected to be an intense affair. It’s because they have already met nine times in ATP tours with the Canadian leading the h2h tally 5-4. The difference is not huge, which means one can expect to witness a crunch battle this time.
