Does Taylor Fritz's Ken-like transformation signal a new era of tennis fashion icons?

Taylor Fritz is on a roll this year, both on and off the court. Not only is he swaying fans with a terrific display of skills, his looks are also attracting a lot of eyeballs. His latest makeover has been causing a huge chatter on social media lately. The World No. 6 is receiving some really fascinating reactions for his blonde look.

In a recent interview with ATP Tour, Fritz revealed the actual reason why he went for the blonde look. The Hot Shot mentioned that he wanted to sport the blonde for a long time. “I’ve polled it every year at the Australian Open,” he said. Now that he’s embraced the blonde look, one can assume that he may flaunt it during next year’s Australian Open as well.

Recently, former WTA player and Serena Williams‘ ex-coach Rennae Stubbs commented on Fritz’s hairstyle. She couldn’t help but compare Fritz’s latest look with that of an iconic movie character. It happens to be from last year’s Barbie’ featuring Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie.

In one of the newest episodes of The Rennae Stubbs Podcast, Stubbs talked about players like Casper Rudd and Taylor Fritz showing off their carefree looks on the court. Giving her hilarious take on Fritz, she said, “I feel like Taylor’s definitely like, he feels like Ken to me”.

For those unaware, Ken in ‘Barbie’ also had blonde hair. Along with his character portrayal by Ryan Gosling, Ken’s appearance was a hit across the internet. “If Barbie had just come out, it would have been hilarious,” said Rennae while wondering what would have happened if the film was released this summer instead of 2023.

While his blonde look is making waves as of now, Fritz is really working on evolving his overall personality. Simply put, he’s getting more involved in fashion this year than ever before.

The American star also observed that many fans are taking a deep interest in players’ style and their off-court appearances these days. “A lot of people like to do the tennis looks, and a lot of brands as well have gotten into that. It works because it’s stuff that you can wear to play tennis and stuff that you can wear when you’re not playing tennis, so it just works for everything.
