Italian tennis star Lorenzo Musetti’s season can be divided into two halves. On one side, he had some consistent, power-packed performances. However, his form drastically dropped in the latter half and he has suffered a string of early exits from recent tournaments. Currently, Musetti is on a six-match losing streak and things haven’t been going his way. In light of this, his coach had to draw a striking parallel between him and the American tennis star, Taylor Fritz.
A few months back, it was revealed that Musetti was expecting his first child with his girlfriend Veronica Confalonieri. It has coincided with his drop in form. Here’s what his coach had to say.

Talking about the 21-year-old, he said, “Lorenzo is happy and so am I, but it’s not easy to control everything, neither for me, nor for him, nor for his parents. There were a lot of things to plan: home, life, and maybe he wasn’t focused on tennis. Everyone is different. Fritz also became a father at a very young age, just like Khachanov.”
Further, he went on to add, “For me, Lorenzo is very intelligent and his future fatherhood is good news, but for now it is not easy. Next year, however, there will be no problems and he will concentrate solely on tennis.”
