The French Open 2021 has witnessed some really intriguing encounters so far. However, this is just the start as the men’s semi-finals of the tournament will begin tomorrow. The first semi-finale will witness the battle between two youngsters-Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas.

While it’ll be the first-ever French Open semi-final for Alexander Zverev, World No. 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas will play his second consecutive semi-finale at Roland Garros. As of now, it is Tsitsipas who leads the head-to-head battle 5-2. However, it was Zverev who won their last encounter in straight sets at the Acapulco Open 2021. Overall, the two share a really complicated relationship.

Even though World No. 5 Tsitsipas and Zverev didn’t have a great relationship earlier, things got sorted out between them lately. According to Zverev, what began as an intense rivalry is now a healthy one as he is having good relations with the Greek player.

“I’m having a good relationship with Stefanos now since the Laver Cup,” said Zverev in a recent interview.

The two played for the same side, Team Europe, at the Laver Cup and it is one of the reasons why they have managed to develop a healthy relationship after that.

Common things between Alexander Zverev and Stefanos Tsitsipas

Although the two players hail from two different nations, the two next-gen players have quite a lot of things in common. Some of the intriguing ones are that both Zverev and Tsitsipas are coached by their fathers. Besides this, wherever they travel on tour, they always travel with their entire family.

Interestingly, both their mothers were tennis players, and they played the sport together when they were about 14 years old. In addition, both are yet to win a major in their career and are sponsored by a common sports brand, Adidas.

There have been some intense moments between the two players on the court in the past. However, they have now moved on and will face each other in the semis of the French Open 2021 tomorrow. Fans really have high expectations from both of them and expect the match to be a blockbuster. Will Tsitsipas be able to continue his dream run and secure his place in the finals of Roland Garros 2021?
