Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios and his Greek contemporary Stefanos Tsitsipas have initiated the latest phase of tennis rivalry. The two never seemed to be getting along on the tour. However, the feud at Wimbledon earlier this year further stoked the fire in their rivalry. After the Wimbledon incident, the two fired multiple verbal volleys against each other.
Recently, the two featured in a doubles match together and it looked like the tension between them has settled. However, another press conference dig from Stefanos Tsitsipas suggests something else. Here’s what he said.

Arch-rivals Nick Kyrgios and Stefanos Tsitsipas recently played a doubles match together in Saudi Arabia. While they shared the court, many must have thought that the differences have disappeared between the two stars. However, the show hasn’t ended just yet. Even though all looks good between them, the bitterness is still there. At least from the Greek’s end.
Participating in the United Cup, Tsitsipas took a shot at Kyrgios when asked about his experience of playing doubles with the Australian. Here’s what he said.
“Tough to concentrate, for sure. I’ve played doubles with a lot of guys, girls as well, not that many, actually. Very difficult to concentrate. I don’t know where that energy comes from. There’s just so much of it.”
Tsitsipas further added, “You want to go about your thing. You want to concentrate on your own half of the court. There’s just noise coming from the other side of it. It’s distracting. It’s not easy.”
It will be interesting to see how Kyrgios responds to it.

When Tsitsipas called for a revenge match
The former world number three and Kyrgios clashed in a high voltage third round match at the Wimbledon Championships earlier this year. While the Greek took the early advantage after winning the first set, Kyrgios staged a comeback and took the next three sets to win the match.
However, the two had a verbal spat on the court. After several months, Tsitsipas challenged Kyrgios again. The Greek asked for a rematch to get an opportunity for his revenge as he shot for a golf commercial.
