Stefanos Tsitsipas recently hit the jackpot by defeating Casper Ruud in the finals of the Monte Carlo Masters by 6-1. With this victory, he has not only secured the staggering prize money of $990,052 in Monte Carlo. But he has now also managed to enter the $30 million prize money club by surpassing Carlos Alcaraz in overall career prize money. With this, the 25-year-old Greek tennis heartthrob became the first tennis player born in 1998 or after, male or female, to reach that incredible milestone.

This was his third title triumph at Monte Carlo. Only three active players, excluding him, have managed to win the same Masters 1000 tournament three times in their careers. Stefanos Tsitsipas went into the tournament with $29,364,745 in overall prize money, but he managed to finish this tournament with a staggering $30,360,563. He’s the 13th player to hit the $30 million mark in the history of ATP.

If we look at the ATP Prize Money Leaders list for 2024, then we would see Jannik Sinner‘s name right at the top of the list, bagging a total prize of $4,283,223 in 2024. Next on the list is Daniil Medvedev, with $2,315,213 in prize money in 2024 so far. The German tennis star Alexander Zverev is third with his earnings of  $2,162,729 in the 2024 season so far. Stefanos Tsitsipas sits in fourth place and Carlos Alcaraz in fifth bagging $1,739,823, and $1,736,000 respectively.

Carlos Alcaraz’s overall prize money amounts to around $28,762,147. And with this recent triumph in Monte Carlo, Stefanos Tsitsipas has now successfully created a lead of $1,598,416 over the Spaniard. Not only that, the Greek tennis star has now also successfully managed to get back to the top of the PIF ATP Rankings. He has recently jumped up to 5 spots, ranking number 7 in the world. Stefanos Tsitsipas has been knocking on the door for quite some time now. How does it feel to be able to finally cross the finish line this time around? Tsitsipas said, “It has been very difficult, so to be back on the podium and winning tournaments just feels amazing.” He thanked his family, friends, and God for making this moment possible for him.

I am extremely grateful for every person behind this journey. The third time is even more special than the first or second time. This is an unbelievable win for me. Capturing that win today was nerve-wracking. I really wanted this trinity. I am extremely happy today,”  Tsitsipas said.
