Greek star Stefanos Tsitsipas had a disappointing run at the ongoing US Open. However, more than Tsitsipas’ recent performance, another incident has brought him under the spotlight. He parted ways with his coach, who also happens to be his father. While major controversy surrounds this chapter, an acquaintance exposes the reality behind the scenes. Despite falling out with his father, Stefanos takes a strict step revealing how his family’s reputation matters to him equally like his professional career.

His alleged feud with his father was under media scrutiny when the ATP star announced a split with him. This Greek player’s father, Apostolos Tsitsipas, has been his coach for a long time. However, after Tsitsipas’ sad exit from the Canadian Open, he visibly criticized his father saying he was “really disappointed in him.

After this fiasco, Tsitsipas’ former physiotherapist Jérôme Bianchi, who worked with the Greek’s family from 2018 to 2022, mentioned some unbelievable details with French L’Equipe. Their relationship has not been sustainable for years, their way of operating is harmful, Every time Stefanos wanted to break up with his father, his mother ran and said, ‘You can’t do this to him, he dedicated his life to you’. And he found himself feeling guilty,” said Bianchi. His statements have sparked an outrage revealing the truth of Stefanos Tsitsipas’ relationship with his father.

Amidst the differences, the Tsitsipas family were fuming at Bianchi’s comments. They hired a lawyer, Thanasis Papathanasiou, and instructed the Papathanasiou-Confino law office (Paris) to take necessary actions against such incidents. While Bianchi’s interview revealed many unknown facts about Tsitsipas in the media, it also opened up some private details about their family which they likely did not want to disclose to the media.

Stefanos, post his split with his father as a coach, said that he needs and deserves a guide who would listen to him and acknowledge his feedback as a player. The ATP star thought his father, “hasn’t been very smart or very good at handling those situations.” This separation brought many rumors among the tennis fraternity with people thinking that Paula Badosa might have influenced Tsitsipas’ judgement.
