In today’s quarter-final match, Stefanos Tsitsipas gave us one of the best performances of the Australian Open so far. The no.4 seed from Greece absolutely destroyed the Italian Jannik Sinner in straight sets to reach the semi-final.

Stefanos has been in fine form throughout the tournament, and he would definitely like to continue this form in the semi-final as well. Many thought Sinner would pose a serious challenge to the Greek player, but Stefanos had other ideas. Meanwhile, the no.4 seed created a new record after reaching the semis of the Australian Open.

Stefanos Tsitsipas beat the no.11 seed, Jannik Sinner, by 6-3,6-4,6-2. The match only lasted around 2 hours and 6 minutes. During the match, Tsitsipas played some unbelievable shots snd Sinner had practically no answer against them. Tsitsipas’ backhand was especially on fire today.

Interestingly, we saw a rain interruption during this match and they had to close the roof of the stadium for the remainder of the match. When the rain break came, many thought that would help Sinner to gain some momentum back. However, that was not the case, as Tsitsipas absolutely dismantled the Italian.

No doubt, this record will motivate Tsitsipas greatly after the French Open disappointment last year where he lost to Djokovic despite winning the first two sets. Maybe this is the year the Greek finally wins his first Grand Slam.

Tsitsipas will face either Daniil Medvedev or Felix Auger Aliassime in the semi-final. Either way, the semi-final will be an outstanding tennis match to watch.
