Alexander Zverev‘s French Open dreams were shattered in a grueling final against rising star Carlos Alcaraz. The German phenom left the court not just with a runner-up trophy, but a “broken heart,” as he himself described it. However, amidst the disappointment, Zverev hinted at a source of solace awaiting him back home in Berlin. Who is this special someone, and how will they help mend his wounded spirit?

In a post-match conference, Alexander Zverev revealed his plans after suffering from a massive heartbreak in the Philippe Chatrier Court. When a journalist asked him to spill the beans on how he is going to move on from this heart-wrenching defeat, the World No. 4 said, “…we’ll see I mean I’ll probably I have a thing with flow back tomorrow in Switzerland that I’ll go to and then I’ll probably fly to Berlin coz I have you know a very important person that I want to see there which I always do after tournaments and then we’ll see”.

Zverev has been a consistent performer at the French Open, reaching the semifinals in each of the past three years. However, his 2022 campaign was unfortunately cut short due to an ankle ligament tear during his semifinal match against Rafael Nadal. This year, when he finally managed to enter the Finals defeating the likes of Nadal in the draw match, the German ATP star lost to his Spanish opponent by 6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1 and 6-2.  This marks the second time Zverev has fallen short in a Grand Slam final after leading by two sets, having previously experienced heartbreak at the 2020 US Open against Dominic Thiem.

Keeping his heartbreak aside, Zverev revealed how he would fly to Berlin and meet one of his life’s most important persons in Berlin. Since the German didn’t mention who exactly the person is, fans speculate that it can be either Zverev’s mother, Irina Zvereva or his East Berlin-born TV presenter girlfriend, Sophia Thomalla.

Double duty for Zverev’s partner: Alexander Zverev fought for his French Open title without his girlfriend, Sophia Thomalla, cheering him on from the stands. The actress and model was busy filming in Thailand for the upcoming season of the German reality show “Are You the One?” Zverev undoubtedly missed her support!

On the other hand, Zverev’s mother Irina Zverev has also been one of the German ATP star’s biggest support. She along with her husband coached Zverev at a young age. Therefore, fans are speculating that Zverev might also meet his mother post his loss in Paris. After all, it is the family that one needs during such challenging times.

However, keeping the rumors aside, it was revealed that he is eager to meet his daughter Myla, who was born to Zverev’s ex-girlfriend Brenda Patea in 2021. A reliable Zverev fan shared this information on the X platform and wrote:

Previously this German ATP star said- “Even though Brenda and I are no longer together, we have a good relationship, and I will live up to my responsibility as a father. Together we will take care of the little person that is about to grow,” After that, fans knew that Zverev would make sure he stays closer to his daughter and give her a beautiful upbringing with his former partner.

Zverev represented an optimistic point of view after losing the finals to Carlos Alcaraz. Despite his heartbreak, he didn’t forget to congratulate his Spanish opponent. “Congratulations Carlos (Alcaraz). Winning three different slams on three different courts at 21 years old is amazing. You are already a hall of famer and this is not going to be your final trophy at this court,”- said Zverev.

While his fans were disappointed with the result, they got charged when Zverev concluded his statement by saying- “The atmosphere has been amazing and this is one of my favorite courts on the tour and I’ll be back next year.” After this, Zverev’s fans felt motivated to see this ATP star return to a surface where he has some good results. However, he has declared to not participate in the upcoming grass tournament!

Zverev’s eye-popping minutes spent on tennis courts forces him to prioritize rest and recovery

Following a marathon French Open run that saw him spend a staggering 23 hours and 46 minutes on court, Alexander Zverev has opted to withdraw from the BOSS Open in Stuttgart. The final against champion Carlos Alcaraz alone lasted nearly four and a half hours, showcasing the demanding nature of his Roland Garros journey.

Citing fatigue after a grueling tournament, the world No. 4 will skip the grass-court event, opting to prioritize rest and recovery. “I’ve played a lot of tennis in the last few weeks and reached the final in Paris, where I played five tough sets. I feel that my body is not ready to go from clay to grass now,” he said in a statement provided by organizers.

Nevertheless, Alexander Zverev’s statements reveal that his heartbreak can only be cured by his life’s special person. However, because of how Zverev has cared for himself for the last few years, fans know he will return soon and surprise the fraternity with more titles in his bag.
