Serbian tennis legend, Novak Djokovic made a surprising and hilarious response to a question about his favorite mixed doubles partner. Djokovic, for whom losing is almost a next-to-impossible thing,  has made average results in both doubles and mixed doubles. Djokovic partnered with accomplished doubles player Nikola Cacic and made a few noteworthy results. However, this Serbian tennis legend’s doubles record won’t term him a G.O.A.T of tennis anytime soon.

Recently, Djokovic hilariously dropped Rafael Nadal‘s name as his favorite mixed doubles partner in a conversation. While Djokovic admitted not making a joke, the tennis legend corrected his answer. Nevertheless, fans had a great laugh seeing Djokovic making this mistake.

It was a reliable tennis source that posted a clip of tennis stars on their official X (formerly Twitter) channel. In this clip, fans spotted Novak Djokovic making a hilarious mistake. When asked about his favorite mixed doubles partner, Djokovic responded with Nadal’s name. After that, the interviewer reminded the Serbian tennis legend that he was asked about mixed doubles. Djokovic rolled in laughter after this and commented, “I didn’t hear the mixed doubles. Sorry Rafa, no. It was, It was not a joke. I just didn’t hear. “

Now Djokovic’s response surprised his fans. This is because Djokovic picked his arch-nemesis as his favorite doubles partner. However, on being corrected by the interviewer, Novak Djokovic straight-up apologized to the Spanish tennis legend. This revealed Djokovic’s professional bond with Rafael Nal despite their on-court rivalry.

After Djokovic’s response following Rafael Nadal, the Serbian tennis legend expressed his sadness over the Spaniard’s withdrawal from the ongoing Indian Wells tournament.

Novak Djokovic feels “it’s sad” for the tournament as Rafael Nadal withdrew his name at the last moment

Nadal retracted his name from the ongoing BNP Paribas Open since he felt not “ready to play at the highest level.” After Nadal’s statement, Djokovic like many players expressed his sadness. This Serbian legend commented, “You know, it’s sad for the tournament that Rafa had to withdraw and also for him. I traveled with him to America, that was not planned. It was nice to see him and his family.”

He further added, “And, I know he came in early because he really wanted to adjust to the time zone, get as much as practice as possible, get himself ready to play, So, we know those moments will come for all of us. You know, when they actually come and you actually understand that that’s it, Roger finished his career, Rafa and I are probably not going to play much more,”

Novak Djokovic’s hilarious response about his mixed doubles partner and having less time with Nadal in professional tennis made their fans truly emotional. Although Nadal is not playing tournaments much, fans wish to see him play with Djokovic one last time.
