During this season, Novak Djokovic bagged three more major titles while extending his lead over his fierce adversary, Rafael Nadal. Reacting to the same, the Spaniard recently made some blunt assertions about the 24-time singles Grand Slam champion. The former world No. 1 spoke candidly that his colleague was “frustrated” to mark more major triumphs than anyone else on the men’s tour.

Consequently, the ‘King of the Clay’ received a lot of flak from the public who lambasted him for his bold remarks about another ATP superstar who is also a part of the ‘Big 3′. Unlike all the critics, Djokovic has now come forward with a classy response to his rival’s controversial take that has won him fans’ respect as they go on to ridicule Nadal.

In his interview with Tennis Major, the Serbian tennis legend revealed that he is well aware and doesn’t agree with Nadals’ controversial take on his Grand Slam triumphs. While asserting that “everyone is entitled to their own opinion,” the ‘Djoker’ issued a classy response as he hailed his rival as a great champion.

Although he made such direct comments, Djokovic continued to heap praise on Nadal, referring to him as a player who helped shape his style of play and the outcomes he has achieved. The Serb also expressed his respect and admiration for both Nadal and Federer while he made it clear that he had no intention of speaking in a negative light about them.

Djokovic’s answer has now caught the attention of a furry of tennis buffs on Twitter as they were singing the praise of the Serb while criticizing his ATP rivals. One fan commented, “The older I get the more I start to dislike Nadal and Federer but admire Djokovic”

Another user hailed the Serb’s classy response as he said, “Class act. Novak.”

A fan also hailed the 36-year-old as a ‘true gentleman’ on the ATP Tour, “a true gentleman in a world of Rafa, be Novak Djokovic”.

Another user  said that ‘kind’ athletes are like the ‘Djoker’ and not like his arch rivals, “Kinds be like Novak, not like Roger or Rafa.”

Meanwhile, one of the fans didn’t hold himself back from taking a brutal jab at the 22-time singles Grand Slam champion. He commented, “Djokovic stays on the high road. Class act! Rafa is a sore loser and proving to be, just a loser!”

In the comments section, a user also reminded everyone that Djokovic has rarely publicly criticized his colleagues on the ATP tour.
