Being a tennis player was not Nick Kyrgios‘ first bet! Someone who’s that amazing on the court, outspoken about the sport also had other sporting plans. But now, with the growing time, things are not this day. The decision to choose tennis was made years ago, which is now irreversible. However, the biggest question is whether the 28-year-old tennis player has any regrets about snubbing his favorite sport for tennis.

Regrets are not the 2022 Wimbledon finalist’s strong suit; he has always been open about the difficulties he has faced. But there could be something that gives him the benefit of the doubt, even though he has no regrets.

It’s been a year since the Australian tennis player has stepped back on the court. The last time he was saying playing was at the Australian Open earlier this year, as he was struggling with injuries. But now that he is ready to make a solid comeback next year, he recently opened up about whether his athletic choice of going with tennis was the right decision for him.

If you are a Kyrgios fan, you might know how much he is into basketball. Not only does he enjoy watching basketball, but he also likes to get his hands dirty. But it was not something that he wanted. Recently, in a question-and-answer session on Instagram, the 28-year-old was asked about whether he would switch sports to basketball to have a career again and leave tennis behind.

He wrote, “Sometimes I think to myself that I should of chosen basketball…. for my happiness, but then I think about what I’ve been able to do for my family and close circle and now have no regrets.” He made his choice regarding going with tennis quite clear. He continued by saying that although he occasionally has the same thought, he has no regrets about the life he has chosen for himself in the tennis world.

Nick Kyrgios wishes to go back in time

While players like Carlos Alcaraz have regrets about not getting the opportunity to play against Federer and Nadal, Kyrgios on the other hand, just a few days ago shared a different discomfort. In a conversation with Tennis Channel, he said, “I wish I could turn back the clock, maybe ten years and I wish I was coming up during this time so that I didn’t have to deal with prime Federer and Nadal. That would have been nice.”

He stated that facing some big names was one of the most difficult tasks he has ever faced on the tennis court. And if he could go back in time, you would like to enter the tennis circuit in this arena where there are no Federer and Nadal.
