Andy Murray is a player who is proud of his Scottish heritage. While he travels the world, he still remembers his hometown of Glasgow, Scotland. As he keeps the traditions of the culture alive in his heart, and he also enjoys sharing his customs with people around the world. Recently, Ivan Ljubicic, Roger Federer’s former coach, was someone who was encouraged by Murray to share in his heritage.

Andy Murray and Roger Federer have been friends for a long time. To show their close bond, Federer participated in Murray’s culture as he wore a kilt for a charity match. The Kilt is a garment which is a symbol of masculinity in Scottish heritage. Therefore, following the same pattern, Murray also asked Ljubicic to take part in the Scottish masculinity traditions.

Ivan Ljubicic has been on a tour of his own ever since Federer retired. Recently, the Croatian coach visited the Cromlix Luxury Hotel in Scotland, owned by Andy Murray and his wife, Kim Sears. Ljubicic had a ball of a time as he posted two pictures while he was at the hotel. He stated that he loved the place and commended the Murray family for this venture.

Commenting on the post, Andy and his mother and coach, Judy Murray, thanked Ljubicic for visiting. Andy even told Ljubicic that he would have to wear a traditional Scottish garment next time he vistis. “Thanks so much for going to visit! Next time I want to see you in a kilt 🙂“.

This is not the only time Murray has shared his love for the Kilt with his peers. 

Roger Federer dons a kilt

Tennis players often play in charity matches to raise funds for important issues around the world. The Swiss Maestro and Muzz played in such a match in 2017. The two played against each other as they wore mics to make the match a bit more humorous. As the match was held in Scotland, Federer joked that he would wear a kilt if anyone in the crowd had one

With no delay, one fan came to the side of the court and offered Federer a kilt. He wore it for one game and said that he felt quite nice wearing it. It became another piece of apparel in Federer’s sports wardrobe.
