Nick Kyrgios has been away from tennis for quite some time now. The Aussie ace’s battle with injuries and fitness continues as he was forced to withdraw from Wimbledon recently. He has only been able to play one professional match all year which ended in a straight-set loss. It seems like Kyrgios misses tennis right now and he is finding ways to stay connected to the sport.
For instance, Kyrgios paired up with Frances Tiafoe for the recent Ultimate Tennis Showdown. He coached the American in the exhibition tournament. Now, he shared a tennis moment from six years ago which also involved Rafael Nadal.

Nick Kyrgios shares an old memory from his triumph over Rafael Nadal
The memory dates back to the 2017 Laver Cup. Rafael Nadal and Tomas Berdych had formed a doubles pair to take on Nick Kyrgios and Jack Sock. Laver Cup is famous for setting a stage for the players to display their skillset. Kyrgios being a regular member of Team World mesmerized the crowd by stunning Nadal in a brutal rally.
In the rally, Nadal and Berdych took eight attempts to hit a passing shot through the opposition pair. Each time, Kyrgios and Sock denied them with their sublime touch before the Spaniard eventually conceded the point with an unforced error. Kyrgios reposted the point on his Instagram story thereby showing off his smooth net skills and also taking an indirect jibe at the 22-time major champion.

It is no new news that Kyrgios does not get along well with Nadal. He respects the legend but he prefers Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic over him.

is not quite a fan of Rafael Nadal
Back in January, Kyrgios appeared in an interview with the renowned actor and comedian, Jon-Bernard Kairouz. Kyrgios was asked the famous ‘f**k, marry and kill‘ question which involved the Big 3 players. Surprisingly, the Aussie was quick to answer instead of finding himself on the spot. He said he’d marry Djokovic while ‘kill’ his arch-rival Rafael Nadal.

The answer wasn’t really unexpected. Kyrgios has always been a Roger Federer fanboy and started his recent ‘bromance’ with Novak Djokovic at the same time.
